Yorkshire Network Virtual CPD Event - Every coach NEEDS a supervisor - 14th May 2024

Every coach NEEDS a supervisor.  This CPD event will help you consider how your supervision experience is meeting your needs; if you are yet to engage in supervision, it will deepen your understanding of coaching supervision and reveal what you’ve been missing!

Coaching supervision is growing in popularity with coaches as a key part of their ongoing development, however it is not universal. The truth is that coaching supervision is not well understood, for example: it comes from a therapeutic tradition, so why would it be relevant to coaching? This leads to a belief that it is an expensive way of having your practice judged, and coaches might conclude that they don’t need supervision or won’t find it valuable.

A recent survey found the most common reasons coaches engage in supervision are to notice things they haven’t noticed themselves, to hold space for them to reflect, to help them become the coach they want to be (each at 82% of respondents), and more than anything else to challenge their thinking (88% of respondents).

Since January 2022, Jeremy Lewis has been researching what supervisors actually do to meet their supervisees’ needs. In this webinar, he will present the findings of his research as a framework of intentional supervision interventions that clearly align with the theoretical and practical functions of supervision.

If you already engage with supervision, this CPD event will help you consider how your supervision experience is meeting your needs; if you are yet to engage in supervision, it will deepen your understanding of coaching supervision and reveal what you’ve been missing!
