Bristol & Bath Network Event - Hybrid working: what do we need our leaders to be doing? - 7th May 2024

This is an opportunity to explore what, if anything, is different when leading people in a hybrid work environment. We will explore the challenges in terms of behaviours that need to be enacted versus those that are required in a face-to-face working world and importantly, we will consider the role of the coach in helping organisations and their leaders respond to the change.

We are delighted that our speaker Juliet Alban Metcalf is returning to our branch following the success of her talk last October when she shared her research about what makes leaders really effective in the UK today.

Today’s talk is based upon her current research which she is undertaking for her doctorate, exploring effective leadership of hybrid teams.

Juliette is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and CEO of Real World Group. She has authored numerous articles in various practitioner and peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters on leadership, teamworking and diversity & inclusion and published reports and practitioner journal articles. She earned her MSc in Occupational and Organizational Psychology from University of London, Birkbeck College and her MS in Positive Organization Development and Change and Certificate in Appreciative Inquiry from Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management.

She has helped establish Real World Group’s assessments of Engaging Transformational Leadership, based on uniquely proven research involving tens of thousands of people globally.
This and subsequent research has established the common sense but often missing behaviours that distinguish leaders from managers.

Juliette consults on behalf of Real World Group with organisations from the UK, North America, South East Asia and the wider Asia Pacific region. She also served as co-Chair of the Thought and Action Steering Group of the UK government-sponsored Engage For Success and on the editorial committee of the International Congress on Leadership, Management and Governance.
