An Audience with Dr Rebecca Jones - Evaluating the Effectiveness of Coaching
Evaluating the effectiveness of coaching continues to be an important hot topic both in the academic literature and for practising coaches. A further important area of debate relates to understanding the factors that contribute to effective coaching and in particular, understanding the relative importance of these factors in the context of internal versus external coaches.
Dr Rebecca J Jones, Associate Professor of Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley Business School, is engaged in ongoing research focused on understanding the impact of coaching in the workplace, the factors that explain why coaching works and the challenges and opportunities internal coaches face.
During this session, a select group of internal coaches will have the opportunity to discuss with Rebecca her recent research findings and explore how these findings can be translated into recommendations for practice within their own organisation.
Participants in the session will be provided with copies of two of Rebecca’s recently published papers which explore whether coaching is effective at improving performance in the workplace and the factors that determine coaching effectiveness as pre-reading prior to the session. Rebecca will be happy to answer any questions you may have related to what the findings of these papers mean to enhancing the coaching provision within your own organisation.
Attendees to this session will achieve a greater understanding of cutting edge research and how this applies to internal coaching within their own organisation, explore the reasons how and why coaching works and how this can be used to maximise the impact of your coaching and gain a greater understanding of how the effectiveness of coaching can be evaluated within their own organisation.
