Wales Network Virtual Meeting - Inclusive Leadership

The COVID-19 pandemic has altered the way that we work and accelerated changes that might previously have taken ten years. Leaders are being challenged to adapt fast, and the consequences of failure are significant. Inclusivity, and in particular inclusive leadership is at the heart of much of the change that needs to happen.

Inclusive leadership is an approach that ensures all voices are heard. It means being simultaneously curious and self-aware around difference. It involves fostering high levels of trust, articulating a clear purpose and seeking out different views to inform better decision- making. Inclusive leaders create psychological safety that enhances motivation and drives business performance.

We believe that inclusive leadership will replace command-and-control as the dominant approach to leadership over the next five years. This outcome relies on establishing a clear model for how to be an inclusive leader. At the Wales Network, we look forward to discussing:

- What inclusive leadership is
- How it can be measured
- How to be more a more inclusive leader

About the Presenters:

Anna Wesson is an occupational psychologist, working as an executive coach. She has a varied background, having worked in the Probation Service as well as across the private sector. Her coaching is largely focused on the transition to leadership roles in professional services, with a strong focus on inclusive leadership.

Anna’s collaborator in this presentation, as well as in much of their work, is John Maxwell.

John began his career as an engineer, and following a successful career as a CEO in manufacturing, decided to follow his interest in people and train as an executive coach. He now works across professional services and beyond, helping new and established leaders to excel. Inclusive leadership is fundamental to all of his coaching and consulting work.
