Guildford Network Meeting - Perfectionism

Perfectionism: empowering your clients to break free and succeed in work, home and play

In this psycho-educational workshop, our speakers will focus on what they consider to be one of the most prolific and extremely dangerous myths that are keeping millions stuck and playing below their real potential: perfectionism.

Using the research from Dr. Brené Brown, including her latest work on Daring Leaders, their aims are to break down the concept of perfectionism into coachable themes that will help you empower clients to move forwards with courage.

This session is designed to provide you with deeper understanding of the impact perfectionism may have on you and your clients as well as how it shows up and impacts on organisations to learn, innovate and grow. Nicola and Sanela will look at perfectionism in a greater context of courage and daring leadership.

The session will combine teaching with small-group work to help facilitate the learning.

When teaching the concepts they choose to model vulnerability, what they consider to be an essential element of being brave, by sharing their own experiences. Having previously received feedback that this is extremely powerful and useful to participants.

Summary of Learning Objectives:

  • To understand perfectionism and the negative impact it has on us and our potential
  • To offer ways to reframe it and embrace a more positive approach of striving for excellence
