Workshop: Positive Psychology Coaching

Christian van Nieuwerburgh
In this interactive workshop with Christian van Nieuwerburgh, participants will have the opportunity to engage with the latest thinking about Positive Psychology Coaching and reflect on the practical implications for their practice.

Positive Psychology Coaching (PPC) is an innovative conversational intervention that is appropriate in most professional contexts. It is well suited to challenging times such as the one we’re living in at present. PPC is characterised by an explicit interest in the subjective wellbeing of the client, alongside a focus on goal attainment. Its purpose is to support growth, development, thriving and flourishing.

In order to use PPC, coaches need to understand the key themes of positive psychology and the scientific principles that underpin it. They also need to have effective coaching skills and adhere to a code of ethics. Typically, PPC prioritises the wellbeing of clients, pays special attention to strengths, leverages existing resources and encourages the discussion of emotions.

Christian van Nieuwerburgh has helpfully provided an article for attendees to read ahead of the webinar, which is here: Integrating coaching and positive psychology.
