Three new volunteer roles to support best practice in supervision

EMCC UK’s Supervision Directorate is seeking three new volunteers to work on one of three different exciting supervision projects we have planned for 2024. These opportunities involve:

  • Helping design and launch a new forum for EMCC UK members to experience supervision. These will be monthly ‘taster’ sessions where coaches can book one-off slots for group supervision with EMCC accredited supervisors. Getting involved in this project is an excellent way to promote the benefits of supervision.
  • Contributing to a project on developing resources for supervisors to deal with mental health and wellbeing issues arising in supervision. This involves being part of a small volunteer team to curate updated resources for our website and to advise on interesting CPD events and/or speakers on these topics we can organise. This opportunity would particularly suit supervisors who also have a psychotherapy or counselling background, but it is not an essential requirement. A passion for supporting the supervision profession to be well equipped in navigating mental health and wellbeing issues is what we are looking for.
  • Supervision research: you will be part of a small team to scope out the existing research on what is the supervisee’s perspective on supervision, in particular to drill into what puts coaches off from engaging more with supervision. These insights will help us support more inclusive approaches in supervision. There may also be opportunities to shape and undertake some new research on this as part of the project.

An important overarching objective for all our supervision activities is to promote greater diversity, inclusion and belonging in the supervision profession.

For each of these roles, you will work closely with our Director for Supervision Practice, the Deputy Director, and our wider team of friendly and inspiring volunteers. You will need to be an EMCC UK member, and ideally also be a trained/qualified supervisor.

To apply, please email your CV to the address below, including a short statement (300 words max) on your interest in volunteering, and which particular area you’d like to be involved in:
