Andréa begins by sharing her story of why she started coaching with collage before presenting her talk, which includes the:

• power of images for communication
• neuroscience of emotions and images
• role of the unconscious, symbols and visual metaphors in coaching
• use of external visualisation for meaning-making
• case for creativity in coaching

Throughout the presentation you are encouraged to respond to slides which brings the theory to life and facilitates deeper learning. This is followed by an invitation to participate in an experiential activity using images to explore the theme of ‘My Creative Self’. Peer to peer discussion in small groups/pairs presents an opportunity to develop greater self-awareness around the theme.

We will gather back together to review and reflect as a collective in ways that allow contributions from those who wish to share their experience. 
By the end of our time together the intention is for you to have:

• an appreciation of how images work with the unconscious to enable deeper self-awareness for clients
• understanding of the neuroscience of creativity and the value of using creativity in the coaching context
• insight into your creative self
• awareness of the psychology of coaching with collage

No previous experience, creative confidence or perception of artistic skill are necessary to participate in this session. You are simply asked to come with an open mind, curiosity and a lack of judgement.

Guest Speaker
Andréa Watts is the first specialist in coaching with collage and founded UnglueYou®, her coaching business in 2012. Andréa believes we are all creative and hold a wealth of untapped wisdom and intuition in our unconscious.  vision is: “To see the Collage Coaching Technique™ used globally as a creative coaching tool for releasing people’s potential”. To enable this ambition, she delivers ICF accredited training for coaches on using her 3 stage framework, the Collage Coaching Technique™. She also guest lectures on Coach Psychology programmes at several London Universities, was honorary lecturer at City, University London and the Coaching in Context module lead at Birkbeck University. To further share her knowledge and passion for creativity in coaching Andréa authored ‘Collage as a Creative Coaching Tool: A Comprehensive Resource for Coaches and Psychologists’, published by Routledge in 2022. As an accomplished coach, facilitator, trainer and speaker, in addition to her 1-1 coaching her clients include the United States Air Force and Moet Hennessey. 

The Organiser

Sally Waters is a coach who works with people to help them figure out their next move (and make it happen). She conducted MSc research into the lived experience of changing career in your 40s for more meaningful work. Her coaching centres wellbeing and is informed by psychology. She is a Co-Lead of the Special Interest Group in Coaching Psychology.
