Yorkshire Network - Shifting Stories CPD Zoom Session

We are moving our April 2020 session *ONLINE VIA ZOOM* and hope you can still make it - STARTING AT 9AM. The session is led by Andrew Scott and will be based on the approach developed in his book, 'Shifting Stories'.  This centres on helping people to recognise the unhelpful stories they carry about in their heads, to discover alternative more helpful stories, and to make those more helpful stories come true!

What is this event about?

By the end of this online workshop via Zoom, you will be able to:

Explain how the stories we believe about ourselves and others affect our performance and relationships

Experience the three phases in helping someone to change an unhelpful story

State what actions you will take to apply the learning in practice

Use the model to help coachees to explore and change unhelpful stories

What will it cover?

How we make meaning, to account for reality -and the risks involved in that process

The three phases in shifting an unhelpful story

A case study: demonstrating the three phases in action

Practice sessions in pairs, using the model in practice - hopefully via Zoom break out rooms

Learning review and action planning

Why should I attend?

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

Explain how the stories we believe about ourselves affect our performance

Experience the three phases in helping someone to change an unhelpful story

State what actions you will take to apply the learning in practice

Use the model to help coachees to explore and change unhelpful stories

How will it run?

After a brief introduction and overview, we will watch and discuss a video case study of an (abbreviated) coaching process using the Shifting Stories model; we will then work in pairs to try the model out in practice. That will be followed by a review of learning, and some action planning, to apply the learning in our practice.
