Free Knowledge Exchange panel discussion: Spotlight on health

Explore the role of coaching and mentoring in support of health and wellbeing for individuals and communities, in this panel discussion chaired by Hannah Butler and Andrew A Parsons.

The pandemic has brought many changes for individuals in their personal and professional lives over 2020 and early 2021. There are also potentially many more changes ahead to further challenge us. Our panel includes specialists in supporting people impacted by cancer, mental health professionals and leaders in organisational change and wellbeing. We will be exploring the questions such as:

How can coaches and mentors supporting wellbeing in individuals and communities?
What are the mechanisms for sharing experience and knowledge?
How can we best support self-care for coaches and mentors?
How can we help in the development of best practice and working with other professionals?

Our panel consists of Anne Pike, Sarah Corrie, Ali Morgan and Monika Misra.

Anne Pike – Head of Fountain Centre. Anne is a state registered Occupational Therapist. She has worked in the NHS for several years supporting people adapt to challenges in their professional and personal lives. She is the Manager of The Fountain Centre, an independent charity that supports anyone impacted by cancer under the medical care of St Luke’s Cancer Centre. She is also the Surrey and Sussex co-lead for personalised care and support.

Professor Sarah Corrie – Chartered Clinical and Registered Coaching Psychologist. Sarah has extensive experience in delivering coaching and psychological interventions in both public and private sectors and has a national and international profile relating to training and supervision in the fields of coaching, applied psychology and mental health. In 2016, she was the recipient of the British Psychological Society’s Achievement Award for Distinguished Contributions to Coaching Psychology. She has a particular interest in how coaching can contribute to some of the most challenging issues of our time, including emotional and mental health and how systems can enable the sustained well-being of their workforces.

Ali Morgan – Executive Coach, KPMG. Ali started her career in HR business partnering roles within the legal sector before moving to KPMG to support in Leadership development, which included responsibility for the wellbeing learning curriculum. She is now part of the KPMG Coaching Centre of Excellence where she coaches senior leaders and partners in times of transition, finding that wellbeing, in relation to performance, is often a theme. When not coaching, Ali works with a small community group to raise awareness of environmental and climate issues.

Dr Monika Misra – Consultant in Occupational Medicine. Monika started her career as a General Practitioner.  She is a specialist in Occupational Medicine which she has practiced both in the NHS and in the corporate sector. She has experience in setting workplace wellbeing strategies and leading teams to operationalize these. She has created global workplace mental health strategies and has experience in delivering resilience programs at a team and individual level. Coaching staff within organisations to be their best is her passion.
