Scotland Network - FREE Online peer coaching mentoring and CPD

This virtual group aims to provide a place for EMCC members in Scotland and beyond, plus guests, to share knowledge, deepen and raise awareness on current topics and offer peer coaching, mentoring and the opportunity to build supportive networks.

In the March meeting, Lucy Marder, a regular member of the Scotland Network, will lead on:

Coaching and mentoring with early career professionals.

  • A facilitated, interactive peer-to-peer session exploring the role of coaching and mentoring in supporting the professional growth of early career clients. Through participatory activities, and drawing on the collective wisdom in the group, we will explore:
  • What is different when we’re working with someone at an early stage in their career journey? What does this difference mean for our practice?
  • Is either ‘coaching’ or ‘mentoring’ inherently more suitable for this population? Can the two be blended?

We will work together to answer these questions and will pool our answers via an online whiteboard.

As a community of professional coaches, mentors and supervisors we aim to:
• Create a safe place to explore key topics
• Highlight resources that can support development
• Peer coach, mentor and build relationships in small groups, pairs and triads
• Engage in reflective and reflexive practice
• Give and receive feedback as and when asked for
• Create a space to support personal and professional well-being
• Encourage shared ownership, co-creation and knowledge sharing

• Give and receive peer support
• Network with peers, share stories, learn together
• Advance professional standards and ethical practice
• Reflect on, and learn from, peer-supported development activities
• Feedback on general themes to inform additional EMCC UK developments
