Networking and workshops for East Midlands evening

East Midlands networking event

Thursday 24 October 2019

Our East Midlands network is meeting in Nottingham on 7 November for an evening of networking and a choice of two CPD workshops – book here. Simon Fanning will lead a live group supervision experience, while Amie Nazaruk-Wheeler’s workshop will focus on providing our clients with both support and challenge in their coaching.

The evening follows our launch event in June, which was attended by 85 people. The evening included a keynote session by NLP trainer, coach and leadership expert Steve Kay, who led a masterclass on the power of bringing an ‘inside out’ approach to coaching. We also had a table-based session, chaired by Dawn Edwards, on shaping our network, where we considered three areas: professionalism; learning and development; and caring for ourselves as coaches and mentors.

During and following the evening, we received some very constructive feedback, which has shaped the way we are planning future events for the East Midlands network. That’s why, in this first event following our launch, on 7 November, we are providing plenty of time to network, as well as offering two workshops, running in parallel, enabling attendees to choose the session which works best for them in developing their coaching practice.

In more detail, the two workshops at the November event are:

Combining challenge and support effectively when coaching – led by Amie Nazaruk-Wheeler. Amie will lead us in reviewing the different techniques and approaches we use as coaches, so we can effectively support our clients in achieving their goals, and also challenge their thinking. Amie is the founder and managing director of Grow Development Solutions, which specialises in the design and delivery of bespoke learning and development solutions.

Live group supervision experience – led by Simon Fanning. Simon will guide the group through a group supervision experience. The participants who take the hot seat will gain greater insight and clarity in their work, which they can take back to their clients. Meanwhile, those participating as part the wider group will learn from the experience of others, making connections with their own experience and practice. Simon is qualified to run supervision by the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, and has been coaching in various arenas for over 20 years.
